Trade shows are a great way to market your business and get the word about who you are and what you do. The quality of your trade shows speaks volumes about your company ethos and service. 1) Make your trade show display easy to see and navigate

Make it easy for people to walk around your display so they can read literature, touch samples and fully experience your wares. It goes without saying that your display should be neat and tidy. An untidy booth is off putting and unprofessional.

You could also run a competition or door prize. People love to win, so it’s a great way to collect their information at the same time. 3) Use promotional items and merchandising
Everyone loves a freebie. Make sure you have lots of promotional items with your company logo/motto. Popular giveaways include: keyrings, pens, hand sanitizer and water bottles. Keep them small, so people can carry them around.
4) Have your trade show displays manned at all times.
Always have someone at your display to collect and share information. They must be knowledgeable about your business and it’s a bonus if they have outgoing, friendly personalities. At the very least, your staff should be professional and approachable. Explain to them exactly what the objective of the trade show is, so everyone is working towards the same goal.
5) Be ready to do business.
Have plenty of business cards, flyers, order forms and other necessary literature on your display. You should also have a ‘Call to Action’, which means you must ask people to share their email or mailing information with you in exchange for something free such as a T-shirt, Book or other product.
Once the trade show is over, you should follow up with all the contacts you have collected. Send out email, snail mail or make phone calls. The quicker your respond to them, the more your business will stand out from the rest. The follow up is critical to your trade show success, so make sure this is a priority item the day after the event.
